Caistor
Development Trust
The Caistor Development Trust was set up in 2002 by the Caistor
Development Partnership as the "business" arm of Caistor Development
Partnership and
was successful in obtaining funding from the East Midland Development
Agency to enable the trust to engage the University of Lincoln to carry
out an economic study of the town under the leadership of Professor
Glyn Owen. The project was completed in June 2005 and has provided
a 'Business Plan' report which will assist in the revitalisation
of Caistor (http://www.caistor.net/UniversityPlan0506.pdf).
The Trust has obtained Section 106 Agreements as a planning condition
for two property developments in the town totalling £25,000 to
enable the trust to improve car parking facilities within a five mile
radius of each development. Once the developments commence the trust
will seek to improve the car parking provision within the town.
The trust has also been successful in obtaining funding from
Lincolnshire County Council Multi-Use Centres project to furnish and
equip the Caistor Multi-Use Centre at 19 South Street, Caistor
(formerly Caistor Magistrates Court) which was officially opened
on 7th October 2006 by Roger Douglas JP, the High Sherrif of
Lincolnshire.
