Tony Turner
is a Lincolnshire man through and through. Born in Cleethorpes and educated at
Clee Grammar School, he was the borough’s youngest ever mayor.
He trained as an
engineer, before working first for his father, and later for himself.
In 1986
he moved to Swallow where he is an active member of the Village Hall and
Playing Fields Committee.
He is a widower with two grown-up daughters both
living in Swallow, and four grandchildren who attend Brocklesby Park and
Caistor Yarborough Schools.

Tony has been a councillor for most of his adult life, serving on Cleethorpes
Borough and Humberside County Councils before being elected to
Lincolnshire County Council
for the
North Wolds Division
in 1995.
As a County Councillor he has always believed his first duty is to serve the
interests of those who elected him and never to follow slavishly the party
line. To this end he attends not only meetings at County Hall in Lincoln,
but Parish and Town Council Meetings
throughout the division averaging about ten a month. At these he notes all
local concerns and makes sure that these are passed on to the appropriate
departments within twenty-four hours.
He has always been particularly interested in education and young people,
having been involved in youth work since his own early twenties both at a
practical level with various
Youth Clubs
and as Chairman of Cleethorpes Youth Committee. He is a Governor of Signhills
School in Cleethorpes, and currently serves on the
Lincolnshire County Education Committee.

He is also a member of the
Highways, Public Protection
, and
Investment
(Pensions)
Committees
.
As well as being on the County Council, Tony is a member of the
Eastern Fisheries Committee.
He was awarded the
M.B.E
. for Services to the Community in 1997.
Tony is always pleased to hear from anyone needing help or advice and can be
